Roblox is a platform of infinite possibilities, and this past year our vibrant community has once again pushed the boundaries of creative possibility, driving unprecedented growth. With over 111.8 million average daily active users1 and more than 390 billion visits to experiences,2 our platform is thriving as a dynamic ecosystem where imagination comes to life. Users are visiting an average of over 21 experiences a month,3 and as a result, creators are earning more.
Over the past year, creators have earned over $1 billion through the Roblox Developer Exchange (DevEx) Program. And more creators are finding success on Roblox, with thousands of independent creators globally earning full-time job equivalents in their regions-- establishing Roblox development as a potential career path for many.4 And to support this global community of creators and users, today we announced that our São Paulo data center is fully live and serving traffic. The new infrastructure will enhance the Roblox experience for millions of users in Brazil, providing improved performance and reduced latency regionwide.
At this year’s Roblox Developers Conference (RDC), we’re sharing our latest innovations focused on arming creators with the tools they need to bring their ideas to life. Our announcements ladder up to a broader goal—that 10% of all gaming content revenue will flow through the Roblox ecosystem and be distributed within our community of creators. In order to get there, we are investing in every stage of the creator development lifecycle, from creation to monetization, all built on a foundation that promotes safety.
Powering Creation
Creation on Roblox starts with the spark of an idea from our community. To bring those ideas to reality faster, we’re constantly innovating on our engine. This innovation is core to our goal of supporting 100,000 users on one server simultaneously, with photorealism and imperceptible latency, all around the world while connecting users who speak different languages, on a platform that is safe for people of all ages. We’re building industry-leading AI capabilities and a highly optimized, powerful engine to unlock this new era of creation.
AI Tools to Accelerate Creation
To achieve our mission of connecting a billion people, we need creators around the world building at massive scale. Today, the Roblox creator community is full of small, agile, talented teams building incredible experiences. We believe the majority of the top 1,000 experiences were built by some of the smallest teams in the industry (with, on average, fewer than 10 people). By providing incredible tools including first-of-their-kind AI tools and an Assistant they can use to increase their productivity, we want to enable smaller teams and even solo developers to open up new, dynamic gameplay mechanics.
Today, we announced a new way for creators to generate fully functional objects starting with select vehicles and weapons categories. This moves beyond generating static 3D objects to fully interactive scripted assets. The user or creator can provide the prompt (“a sleek, futuristic red sports car”), and our API provides a functional, interactive car that can be driven. From there, creators have full control. They can add their own logic like cars with doors that open and wheels that turn to extend or replace the base functionality to create content that works perfectly within their unique experiences. This will be a powerful, new way for creators to let their users create directly in experiences, while ensuring what they build works smoothly with the experience’s mechanics.
We also announced a series of APIs to help creators speak, respond, and connect with users—all in their own native language. With new Text-to-Speech and Speech-to-Text APIs, creators can build more immersive and interactive experiences. The Text-to-Speech API makes it easy to add narration and character dialogue instantly, with options to customize voices with 10 English presets (more voice presets coming soon), like a non-player character (NPC) who gives you directions to navigate from any location in a world. The Speech-to-Text API allows for voice-based interactions, enabling game mechanics around voice commands, like firing a ship’s cannon when a user says “Fire!”
When combined with our Text Generation API, creators can create NPCs that have dynamic, contextual conversations with users through text and voice. Additionally, our new Real-Time Voice Chat Translation capability will instantly translate voice chat into the listener’s native tongue, connecting users around the world speaking different languages, starting with English, Spanish, French, and German.
We also shared a significant upgrade to Assistant in Roblox Studio, enabling it to communicate with third-party LLMs and applications via the Model Context Protocol (MCP). This means that creators can now use Assistant as an MCP client to orchestrate activity across third-party programs that integrate MCP. For example, they can lay out a UI in Figma or create a skybox in Blockade Labs and have Assistant automatically import it directly into their experience in Studio. This is an industry-leading approach, as Studio is operating as an MCP server while Assistant is an MCP client – functionality that no other major engine natively supports. These improvements also allow Assistant to orchestrate much more complex, multistep tasks across multiple tools.
An Engine to Support High-Fidelity, Competitive Experiences
We want creators to have the freedom to build whatever they can imagine in a safe and civil environment, and we want to enable users to play those experiences on any device, anywhere in the world. To get there, we need an engine that can support high-quality games with equally high performance. That combination of quality and performance is truly unique, and it’s how we’re bringing Roblox to billions of devices worldwide. One of our focuses this year is to enable competitive gameplay, including battle royale, sports, racing, and other competitive genres.
We’ve overhauled our asset pipeline to dynamically adjust the quality of assets based on their importance and distance from the player. We’re building technologies that work in concert to enable higher fidelity, more complex, and more performant worlds. One of those technologies, Scalable Lightweight Interactive Models (SLIM), reduces compute resources by grouping complex composite models into an interactive model. These systems work together to enable higher quality and more expansive worlds even on lower end devices.
Today, we also confirmed the upcoming availability of two features to all creators that we announced last year for building competitive experiences: server authority and custom matchmaking. Server authority will make experiences more resistant to cheating and improve the realism of complex interactions like car collisions by shifting the source of truth for critical gameplay to the server. This technology is currently in closed beta and will be enabled out of the box when creators use the default Roblox character controllers and physics objects. With custom matchmaking, creators can configure Roblox’s algorithm to add in their own custom signals, like a skill-based rating. With both server authority and custom matchmaking available natively for every experience, creators will be able to create truly competitive experiences and publish them faster than ever before without spending time re-creating similar solutions.
To support the higher-fidelity, more complex, more performant worlds we’re enabling, we’ve also announced that we’re upgrading our global avatar system, meaning avatars will have more lifelike motions, including running, climbing, swimming, and vaulting. This opens up new possibilities for genres like obstacle courses and sports, where physicality and context are vital to gameplay.
Reimagining Discovery
For Roblox creators, building a great experience is only the first step. The next challenge is getting discovered by the users who’ll love their experience. That’s why we’ve reimagined how our discovery ranking algorithm works and shared the exact signals we use transparently with creators. Creators now have direct visibility into how their experience is performing against the signals we reward, so they can address any gaps and gain greater discoverability
But this is only part of our vision for discovery. Today, we announced the beta launch of Roblox Moments, a new way for users to discover experiences through short-form video clips of gameplay moments. Moments is an on-platform short-form video experience for creation and discovery. Users can capture, edit, and share clips of their gameplay—and others can tap “join” to instantly try out the experience themselves. The Moments experience is a direct demonstration of what's possible with our new creator-focused tools. Soon, we’ll release Moments APIs, which will help creators attract new audiences and drive stronger engagement. We’re also sharing the source code used for our own Roblox Moments experience so creators can start building and customizing right away. You can read more about Moments here.
We’re also enabling creators to leverage paid discovery of their experiences through ads. In 2025, we shipped a brand-new Ads Manager with over 40 improvements to date, making it easier for creators to succeed with advertising. Over 45,000 experiences5 have used Ads Manager this year to reach and retain relevant users—that’s up 70% year-over-year. Soon, creators will benefit from enhanced reporting in creator analytics that will make it easier to understand traffic behavior by source, a new maximize-spend objective that optimizes for earnings, and improvements to search advertising.
Driving Growth
One of the most significant ways for creators to expand their reach is to tap into the established fanbases of beloved global IP. We’ve seen major success when creators and IP holders partner, and we are building an ecosystem that supports licensing for rights holders at scale across Roblox. For rights holders, this is an opportunity to bring their IP to Roblox; for creators, this is an opportunity to reach established fanbases of some of the biggest IP titles. To support these partnerships, we introduced a novel method of licensing by launching the License Manager and Licenses catalog with four partners: Lionsgate, Netflix, Sega, and Kodansha. Today, we’re announcing the newest additions to our Licenses catalog, with Kodansha’s “Blue Lock” and “That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime” now available.
In time for Halloween, Lionsgate is soon bringing creators even more great IP to build with via the Licenses catalog: “The Strangers,” “Blair Witch,” and “Fall.” And a new partner, Invisible Narratives, is bringing the Skibidi franchise to the Licenses catalog as well.
We’re also thrilled to welcome Mattel to the program and announce that the “Polly Pocket,” “Street Sharks,” “Rock ’Em Sock ’Em Robots,” and “Matchbox” brands will soon be available for creators to license in the Licenses catalog.
Growing Earnings
Once a creator has a dedicated community, the final step is to look at ways to earn on Roblox. We’ve built an economy where creators of any size can succeed, and we’re always looking for new ways to support creators as they build thriving businesses on our platform. Starting today, we’re increasing the DevEx rate for all creators. Creators will now earn 8.5% more when turning Earned Robux into cash, subject to compliance with the terms of our Developer Exchange Program.
Increasing DevEx is one of the most direct ways we have to reward the incredible value creators bring to Roblox. This year, we’ve expanded the ways creators can earn within their experiences while also increasing engagement, by launching Regional Pricing, Creator Rewards, and Rewarded Video Ads. In the coming months, we’ll also expand Regional Pricing, which offers users prices more reflective of their local economy, to all types of in-experience items.
A Safe and Civil Foundation
All of this is built on a foundation that promotes safety and civility for everyone on Roblox. We’re constantly improving our moderation systems and policies - shipping over 100 safety initiatives since January 2025 and collaborating with industry partners to promote safe interactions on the platform.
Earlier this week, we announced that we will be requiring age estimation for all users who access our on-platform communication features by the end of the year. With this information, we’ll also launch new systems designed to limit communication between adults and minors unless they know each other in the real world.
All these initiatives build on the layered safety systems that already exist on Roblox. A safe and positive experience for users on Roblox is a shared commitment and we work hand-in-hand with our community of users, creators, parents, and partners who, like us, want to foster a secure space for creativity and play.
While RDC is where we make some of our biggest announcements every year, it’s also a chance to celebrate with our creators and show our appreciation for their continuous partnership with Roblox. The creativity and dedication of our community inspires us to keep innovating and building, so we can empower creators to build experiences that connect people all over the world.
