Safety Snapshot: November

Transparency Into Roblox Abuse Reports and More Safety Updates

Our November Safety Report showcases our progress over the last month to continue to innovate around safety.

PII detection technology to tackle an industry-wide problem: We’ve open-sourced a version of our Roblox PII Classifier, which has significantly enhanced our ability to detect and block attempts to violate our strict policies around sharing personally identifiable information (PII). Since its implementation, PII conversation recall in English has risen to 98%, outperforming other leading open-source models.

More transparency for users by making changes to our products: While we moderate the platform 24/7, we also provide tools for our users to report abuse and encourage users to report anything problematic. We continually improve how we act on these reports. We know users expect more information about what happens when they report something on Roblox, so we’ve broadened the list of categories that we respond to. Across all report types, we now let users know when we’ve taken action in response to their report. This has resulted in 250% more feedback provided to users about the reports they’ve filed.

Insights for developers by making changes to our products: We launched a new dashboard for developers to provide insight into abuse reports (e.g., swearing) filed in their games. This allows them to take action to keep their experience civil, such as rolling back features, improving moderation, or offering more user education.

Safety Through Collaboration With Policymakers, Parents, and Design Partners: We continue to look for ways to partner with key stakeholders, and we have four important updates:

1. We’re expanding our inaugural Parent Council, a key initiative to enhance online safety and user experience, to include parents and caregivers from Latin America and Asia Pacific, who can apply here. A diverse group of nearly 200 parents and caregivers from the U.S., Canada, Mexico, and Europe have already applied to advise on platform features, policies, and resources.

2. We contributed resources for this month’s Anti-Bullying Week in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. The theme for this year's campaign, Power for Good, encourages children and young people to speak out, support their peers, and foster a kinder world. This initiative is projected to engage over 7.5 million schoolchildren.

3. Roblox announced our cooperation with the Attorney General Alliance to establish the Partnership for Youth Online Safety. This multisector initiative brings together attorneys general, law enforcement, and technology leaders to create new protective tools, enhancing our ability to track and disrupt malicious actors across various platforms.

4. As part of our ongoing commitment to teen safety, Roblox sponsored the first-ever Inspired Internet Pledge Amplify Youth Summit: Unmuted 2025. The sponsorship supported event costs and provided travel assistance for participants. The Summit focused on empowering high school and college students, bringing their perspectives on mental health and civility in digital spaces. Roblox staff hosted workshops and collaborated on key takeaways, reinforcing our belief that true platform safety requires listening to the people who use it every day.

Roblox hosted a workshop, 'Fostering Connection in Social Gaming,' with the Prosocial Design Network on October 17, 2025, connecting industry experts, developers, and researchers from academia interested in building connection and community in online spaces.

We’re dedicated to building a safe and civil platform for all users. We will continue to provide these updates to keep our community informed of our ongoing progress.
