Parent & Caregiver Guide to Roblox

What is Roblox?

Roblox is an immersive gaming and creation platform. Everyday, millions of people create, play, learn, and connect with each other through online games and other virtual 3D experiences built by a global community of creators.

While Roblox occasionally creates experiences for special events, the majority of all experiences are created by Roblox users using Roblox Studio, our free design tool.

Roblox is free to use, but some enhancements require “Robux,” a virtual currency that can be spent to access special features in some experiences, or to buy items such as clothes or accessories for avatars.

People can connect with others in an experience and chat with friends on Roblox. Parents of younger users can use Parental Controls to turn off Roblox’s social features and customize their child’s content access. Roblox has a Safety and Civility Resource Center with useful advice for parents and caregivers.
