Roblox Announces First Head of Parental Advocacy, Dr. Elizabeth Milovidov
New Role Created to Help Families Navigate the Digital World
Today, Roblox announces that Dr. Elizabeth Milovidov has joined the company in a newly created role, Head of Parental Advocacy. In this role, Dr. Milovidov will focus on building partnerships and programs to help equip parents with the tools to help their families navigate Roblox and the digital world.
“Ensuring parents have the necessary tools to navigate the digital world has always been foundational to Roblox’s Civility Initiative,” said Tami Bhaumik, VP of Civility and Partnerships. “We’re thrilled to have Elizabeth, with her digital parenting expertise, join Roblox to further help parents understand the platform and provide guidance to their children on staying safe and thriving in the online world.”
Dr. Milovidov joins Roblox from the LEGO Group, where she was senior corporate counsel on digital gaming, the metaverse, and child safety. She has spent years honing her expertise in advising parents and policymakers on how to keep children safer online, as well as building relationships with various child-safety partners and agencies. Prior to that, she was an independent consultant who advised governments, child-protection agencies, and nonprofits on digital safety, parenting, and well-being. She holds a Juris Doctor in law and Master’s Degree in political science from the University of California, Davis, a Ph.D. in international relations and diplomacy from the American Graduate School in Paris, and a bachelor’s degree from UCLA. She’ll be based in London and is the mom of two tech-savvy teens.
“I am excited to join Roblox to address the evolving challenges families face in today’s digital landscape,” said Dr. Milovidov. “It is my personal mission to give parents the confidence and skills to raise children who thrive online while using technology safely and responsibly—today and tomorrow. This role underscores Roblox’s commitment to supporting parents with expert guidance, innovative tools, and community resources focused on child safety and family well-being.”
Dr. Milovidov joins Roblox during a time of intense global discussion around digital child safety and well-being across the internet. Since Roblox’s founding, its top priority has been to promote the safety and civility of its users on the platform. In recent months, Roblox has released more granular parental controls, participated in Safer Internet Day, and joined the nonprofit Robust Online Safety Tools (ROOST) as a founding partner. Hiring Dr. Milovidov for this newly created role is part of our efforts to empower families to help children use technology safely and responsibly.
