Digital Civility & Safety Mission
Roblox is committed to empowering kids, teens, parents and caregivers with the skills to create positive, healthy online experiences. Safety should be standard by design, and for us, it is. But why stop there? We want better. Roblox’s goal is to help players build strong, lifelong civility skills by teaching them how to interact online in a positive way.
We want to share best practices and inspire the industry to aim higher, to collaborate and set a new standard for online communities. Our goal is to engage with players, parents, developers, and safety organizations, to make sure our community has the best time possible on our platform.
General Online Safety Advice
Protect yourself. Remind your child to never share any of their personal information online, even with friends. That includes passwords and telling people where they live or how old they are.
Parental Controls. Familiarize yourself with the websites or platforms your child uses most frequently. Many allow parents to customize the safety and privacy settings. To find out how to use Roblox’s parental controls, click here.
Play Nice. It feels great to be a positive person, and your child will find that when they’re nice to others it’s infectious. When everyone’s nice, everyone has a great time!
Know What To Do. Teach your child how to deal with online issues. Show them how to report and mute others. Encourage them to talk to you if they see something that makes them uncomfortable. Reassure them that they’re not tattling, but rather helping someone who’s having a hard time.
